I remember in the late 90's some guys coming down to Sydney held a meeting to recruit drivers to go over to the USA I didn't take up the offer at the time, and went over about 6 years later through TruckersforUSA sponsorship, but it turned out Arkansas based Calark had offered jobs to drivers without obtaining work visas, not sure which authorities were involved making underhanded deals with the company this was before 9/11 and it was relatively easy to get a CDL licience. There was a big Federal court case over the matter and a number of Calark executives were sent to Federal prison.mjd4277 and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this.
