That's why you use the stuff called soap, it kills germs. If your immune system is that weak that you still get sick after washing, then it needs some medical attention.

You're absolutely right, it's a tenet of their faith they present themselves to Allah in a state of cleanliness, like Catholics confess so they can be pure in the eyes of their God.
I've lived and spent time in moslem countries though, and generally it's observed as a sort of fast ritual; outside a mosque maybe a tap, a hose, a shallow pool and a large number of adherents getting prepared to pray so it's a rapid sort of lip service process.
What I've seen in truckstops (and I haven't seen much) has been more general cleaning of feet and other nasty bits that might be better done in a shower stall to the Western mind and I think its more a clash of cultures.
When in Rome do as the Roman's I believe, but in countries without access to our standards of hygiene it's not a surprise they don't think as we do, it's so far out of their experience or imagination, or indeed an understanding of why it matters.

 

Much like those from Central America throw their tp in the trash after wiping bcuz the plumbing can’t handle the paper…

Exactly. Same in Greece, when I first went there and saw that I thought oh no, not for me, that's outrageous. I blocked that 2 inch outlet pipe almost by looking at it, and although we shared no language the lady in black who'd given me a great room deal at the ferry let me know very clearly her opinion of me, my upbringing, and her personal opinion of my type very clearly indeed.

 

I never said I tolerated those slobs either.
