Apologies if this has been asked before. Couldn’t find solid answers with the search.

Anyone know a list of companies that don’t take DAC as seriously as MVR & PSP? Have a few incidents from JB Hunt that are unfortunately only about 2 years old. Thinking I could start applying at companies that don’t use the report or have insurance companies that don’t require it.

What types of incidents? That's the first question. Some companies will look past those incidents depending on your experience level.

Apply any and everywhere. All they can tell you is no.

You gonna get what you give. There are no reputable companies that don't use it. You'll be back here in 6 months telling us how a 1099 company screwed you over.
    Man up, and move on.
    Good luck

I remember when I felt JB Hunt screwed me over back in 2016. I was involved in a "no contact" incident that resulted a vehicle swerving off the road in order to miss my trailer. Now that I am able to revisit it with an open mind, I realize that I volunteered too much info. Since I've returned back to JB in Jan of 2019, I've gotten 3 safety awards and made regional driver of the month. Haven't had to worry about DAC, PSP, MVRs, CSA or any other acronyms since I've kept on rollin with them. I'm glad I decided to spin the block and give them another chance because now I'm making great money for hauling less than 1000 pounds of freight per week in the latest model vehicle. I hope you find your peace out here behind the wheel.
    One love

Bent a bumper on left side & scraped a yellow pole. Both are listed as “hit stationary object”.

I would never touch a 1099. One, I don’t think I could properly do the taxes every year. And two I’ve heard very few good things about them.

I wish I could go back to JB Hunt. I was also on a dedicated account (Pactiv). Light loads, average mile was about 1000 miles, & home every week. It was a good job. But they won’t touch me. Had a tow away accident in January of 2023 that resulted in termination from the flatbed company I was with. Very few companies will consider me right now.

That's not a big deal. Drivers make mistakes all the time. You definitely should be careful to not make it a habit, but that's not a career killer.

That tow away accident is what's killing you. That needs to fall of for you to get some of the best jobs in the industry. It'll come off 3 years from that time it occurred. It's one thing to have an accident, but when a tow is involved, it's absolutely devastating to your record. There are companies out there that will take you on, but you have to be willing to work anywhere and run wherever. You can't be choosy.

Some road construction companies, and farm work there are jobs you can do but you likely either work for a shady company or you have to realize you can't just drive a truck and requires some physical work and their is nothing wrong with construction or farm work as long you know what your getting into. I have done both I own several pieces of land and occasionally have to work on it or I have hands to do it but they don't make much its more a free home for them and easy labor for me none them are drivers but there are exemptions allowing them to operate within a certain radius of the farms. I can't say its bad or good job but its really for people who don't want normal jobs.

I've driven for quite a few "reputable" smaller companies that don't bother with DAC or even the older one.

only companies I know that use it are megas
