I use to work for Arnold before they were bought by Roadway then eventually sold to USXpress

Maybe I should shut up and be happy making a living at a company that isn't in jeopardy of going under

Load complete, told to head to a truckstop. They knew on Thursday last week that I was gonna be empty today...guess the flatbed market has dried up around this area....7 days and nothing available?

Saw a driver get pulled over for blowing by the brake check area at the top of Monteagle this morning. While the cop was attending to him, 3 more drivers just ignored the mandatory pull in. Tennessee could make a killing just sitting there waiting for renegades ignoring that thing, I see 3 or 4 blow by every time I go thru there.

This is very true - both Walmart & UPS feeder are gravy jobs regarding the actual work involved, but the policies (& especially with UPS) office/workplace politics make them a different kind of stress.

Everything heavily dependant on location & management as always.

Do you mean not even pulling into pull out?

Every time I ran through Monteagle, everyone was always pulling in, but nearly noone actually stopped & got out to check anything - just did a California rolling stop.

Last time I went through there they had stopped one right past the brake check area but 2 more troopers were sitting in the on ramp from the brake check and ignored the placarded truck that blew by. So their work ethic it seems… varies.

    SSB,

It still stand behind my comment about working for free. But each person is entitled to their own opinion. I turned 60 last month and retired from trucking and started to collect my pension from the Teamsters as of 4/1/24. 30 years in this industry is enough for me. My wife is also a retired Teamster who worked at Sysco Foods in the office. We own 1 home in California. Our 2nd home in California will be paid off in June of this year. We also built a retirement home in Arizona. We bought there because of the gun laws. The video you shared is amazing! Sheriff Grady is one of my hero's! He tells it like it is. One of the guys that I worked with is planning to move to Navarre Florida once he retires. He's a huge fan of the second amendment just like me. My wife and both have our permits for concealed carry in California, Arizona, Utah and Florida. That almost has reciprocity across the country. I honestly wish you and your family the best.

Empty 24+ hours and not a peep from anyone other than they're trying to find something. 8 days ago I picked up the 1st 2 stops of the load that brought me here...8 days for them to secure a load...and they're still looking?
