Basically having been a company driver for a bunch of years I finally have a chance to buy a truck OUTRIGHT with NO payments and kind of have it narrowed down to about 3 (or so) choices. I will probably be leasing on to a carrier. I am planning to run all 48 so I could use some advice about rear ends that are already in the truck selections as i would rather get it right the first time instead of wasting fuel and money. I will probably be hauling van and reefer andI live in mountainous Idaho but will be going east and back alot if that helps. Here are the current selections in no particular order... click on the "pardon our interruption" hyperlink, its just cloudflare being dumb as usual :

Some of the prices for the mileage seem too low.. Should I be worried? Aside from picking the wrong gear Ratio what else should I be concerned with? I plan on warranting the heck out of the truck that I choose and also plan on have $20,000 already waiting in a maintenance fund for any emergencies. So from my choices that I've given is there anything that you can see I should be aware of and which one of these three would you consider to be Top Dog?
Buying my first truck, need help choosing 1of these 3 trucks

Did you do a Rig Dig Report on each truck?
https://truckhistory.overdriveonline.com/AtomicSpud Thanks this. -
I didn't even know there was such a thing. Is it free? if not is there a free version I can use? Also not worried about who owned them, more worried about their current specs.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -

I want to apologize up front for raining on your parade. But I strongly recommend you wait. Freight is slow, and rates are cheap. There is a lot of equipment for sale because people are going belly up. Now is a REALLY bad time to go out in your own.little cat 500, Moon_beam, Magoo1968 and 9 others Thank this.

Both rigs look good in the photo, but this does not unfortunately tell you how mechanically sound they are. It would pay to do a proper check on the engine, gear box, and diff. Buying a pre-owned unit will always come with that risk, what kind of deal are they offering? will the purchase come with any warranty? Which is always a good sign if the dealer assuming it's not a private sale is willing to offer some kind of limited warranty. Anyway, wish you all the best mate with your new O/O quest, more miles and bigger pay checks.

Thank you all for the responses. I have been hearing that it's a bad time to enter Trucking every year since I started learning to drive with Sage technical Driving School back in 1999. It doesn't scare me.
I'm concerned about the engine and gearing choices.
The international has a 450hp Cummins x15, Eaton Fuller 10 speed auto and a 3.36 ratio.
The blue freightliner has a 505hp Detroit dd15 with Detroit auto and 2.85 ratio.
The bright blue one in Idaho Falls has the same specs as the other freightliner except it has a 3.08 ratio.
If all of these were new which one would you pick for mpg running reefer fully loaded doing 48 states, Utah sisters and the Alleghenys? -
This. Also a LOT of equipment that is for sale is likely ill cared for for the above reasons or was on the way out the door since the lease end was coming up so only got the bare minimum at best. Many a mega or even O/O who will stop maintaining a truck at the 400-450K mark since they dump them around 500k. Or worse the truck was repoed and NONE of the maintaince has been done in a long long time.
Add on someone going belly up is almost guaranteed to have let maintaince slide as things got worse and worse before they decided to sell.... Well its really not hard to throw a cheap detail at a truck and make a pile of garbage look nice only for the first time you go out to give you the christmas tree of sadness on the dash.
Throw on the low volume, bad rate, elections coming up (there is near always a freight slump afterwards) and your playing russian roulette with a full automatic rocket launcher to your face. Sure there is a non-zero chance of things going well. There always is and its a better chance then average since you wont owe anything....But there is also a non-zero chance of winning the lottery as well.
Edit: also yes people always say its a bad time because there arent great times to enter. Just less awful. Right now actully IS a bad time. Unless you have contracts already set up, there is a very good chance of going bankrupt right now since you have companys quite literally cutting each others throats on rates over the non locked on contracts.Gearjammin' Penguin, blairandgretchen and TheLoadOut Thank this. -
I appreciate it with advice about not going into it but I'm just going to ignore that for now. I won't be going bankrupt because I will own my own truck outright and if necessary I can hang up the keys and park it for a while.
