Samsara and any other system that relies on an ongoing internet connection to properly function is an absolute P.O.S.... That alone kind of made the qualcomm/omnitracs system superior. I had Samsara up in Alaska, and being 300 miles from the closest cell tower rendered that entire system unreliable at times.

Mine was doing that after I moved to the dock (finally) at my receiver. It eventually kicked in and helpfully let me know it had wasted 20 minutes of line 4 while I couldn’t do anything about it. Kinda like a cat that pukes in your shoes to let you know it cares…

I’ve always wondered what trucking up there is like. Alaska is on my bucket list of places to visit

Long story short, the decision was made to take a 34 here in Fremont. I’ll head back out Thursday morning

Seems like i’ve been at Fremont more often than i’ve been home :biggrin_25523:

Well, you could look at a couple episodes of Ice Road Truckers that was filmed there.. but that show was mostly BS. The production was kicked off of the Dalton Highway, just like they were ran out of Canada. When I have time, I can answer a question or few. Really the most important things are to be very comfortable in the mountains, and with an 18 speed. (18 speed is easy to learn) And be open to learning new ways of operating. (I.e., knowing when to be perfectly OK with running single digit speeds for miles when necessary)

I may get on here later and upload some pics of the highway.

I’ve had exactly this more often than not for the better part of 2 days now. I was mashing the “on duty” button earlier and it kept putting me “off duty”. So I couldn’t tell you what status i fueled in. I suppose if it was wrong I’ll hear from the mothership and I’ll plead my case of ELD insanity.

I have had it put me on Driving a few minutes after shutting the truck off before. And it's not unusual to see a different status or drive time remaining on all four of the different places you can see HOS.

I saw this oversize pull in the other day at a truck stop and i had to take a picture. As someone who was diagnosed with Autism at an early age and dealt with it for most of my life, it’s super cool to see this. He had his little kid riding with him as well IMG_3526.jpeg

Why did they get kicked out of Canada? I enjoyed the show. Yeah it was cheesy with fake drama made for TV but I liked it. Everything on TV is fake drama. This was the only truck driver specific fake drama on TV lol
