    We used to have some loads like that, thankfully before my time. They would wrap the tarps with bungee rope all the way around the load vertically from front to back. The flapping tarp will do more damage.

    The tighter you can get the tarps front to back the better they will look when you tighten the sides. If you have to have holes in your load try and never have them where your tarps come together. If your load is decent in the middle where you overlap you can cover some pretty good holes if you stretch your tarps real tight before you do the sides.
