I did, there is no law.

The only thing I found was a change in the threshold for underpaid employees who are not getting ot, it is a move that is an adjustment and nothing else.

and it does not apply to this industry at all.

It was a news story that went into more detail. And included the 8 hours thing and the OT pay scale.

I should have saved it on my phone.

That doesn't make sense, but much of what govmint does is BS.

In agriculture, they can choose to be exempt from paying ot, and they do.
If the future, they'll have robot trucks, and won't pay any wages. Jobs in general, are slowly being replaced by a.i..I pity my grandkids and future generations. Glad I grew up in the 3 best decades ever. 60s, 70s, 80s.
Wait what were we talking about?

I’m in Maine too, and my previous employer (who I suspect might be your current employer,) didn’t pay overtime, and I was hauling hazmat. My current employer does pay overtime, and I’m making more now and not hauling hazmat. Hazmat was not worth it to me financially, even though I really enjoyed the work. Had my previous employer paid overtime, I’d probably still be there.

It was the 1930s. No OT might have been part of a deal to get more support from states for federalizing rules on interstate trucking. Everybody has hundreds of examples of the govt being a hinderance to fixing problems yet for most people the very first alternative when they find a problem is "the govt should fix this." SMDH! The GOVT doesn't fix anything they shift the pain of a problem to the people the politicians prefer to hurt.
