Terre Haute wrecker driver facing possible charges after S.R. 63 crash in Vermillion County while pulling semi
Kept reading and it kept getting worse. Driver said he passed out from the heat, officers believe he was impaired. Driver of the towed rig was in the sleeper….of the truck being towed.

I wonder if the cops opened the trailer, or did they just decide to quit while they were ahead? LOL

He didn’t pass out from heat at night with the AC on in his wrecker .
and what driver sleeps in the bunk of his rig while it’s being towed ??Studebaker Hawk, Flat Earth Trucker, Blagoje and 5 others Thank this. -
I did once! But it was being hauled on a lowboy. Hadn’t had a wink of sleep for almost 40 hours, and then the truck engine blew up 3-4 hours from home. Friend of mine came with his lowboy to pick me up, I said man I’m dead for sleep, I’m sleeping in my own bunk, and I did. Did get a pretty good shaking thoughFlat Earth Trucker, Bud A. and Kyle G. Thank this.

This is my home area and I have a suspicion about what was going on with that guy knowing what some people are like in that area. May God have mercy on our souls.

I wonder if the sleeping driver was issued to ticket for the flat tire on his truck or if it was the wrecker driver …?
And is this accident that tore his truck up going to be wrote as preventable, because if he were riding in wrecker he could have stopped the wrecker …?

These are questions we need answers too.

I have seen this on YouTube where the driver of the truck getting towed will sit in their truck instead of getting in the tow truck. Which amazes me because all we ever see on the trucks that are PARKED; the tow guy can't even hook it up if your inside.

A few years back the wife and I got towed bobtail from Lordsburg NM to Salt Lake City UT on new years eve (about 800 miles). A father/son tow truck and the kid really wanted to get back to party so they were driving 80+ through a blizzard.
We rode in the sleeper - never again.
