They want me to drive 900 miles a day. Here’s the text

Stop being a whining little #####.. Grow up either do what the job requires or find another job. That's the problem with the new candy ### drivers. Not willing to do what it takes to get the job done. Just wanna cry about on the internet

 

65 MPH steady average are possible only on 94, 90, 80 and 10 starting from middle line like in Omaha to western hills or back. Everything else is clogged or hilly for that speed. 900 miles "request" was pronounced to keep lazy people away, even though I'm one of them.. I did it many times. It requires 15 hrs driving with average 60 to do that, which brings a "day" to 26 hrs, just 2 hrs over to do it by the book. Takes 32 hrs to do 1200.

 

For $200k, you better not be “average.”

 

Is this from the actual carrier or an independent recruiter who is recruiting for the carrier? They can't edit the drive line, I don't think on an ELD. I think when they say "edit" they mean go and change your status history from on duty to off, or to sleeper or something like that.

It can be shown legal arithmeticlly but even in the pre ELD times showing the total of 900 miles in one day was a stretch, especially on one page. Lol
Maybe going out west on I 10 or I 80 averaging 70 + mph could get you that but on the East side of Mississippi River, forget about it.

 

Many smaller companies now offer 24/7 ELD monitoring which does exactly that.

 

If it was a team, there'd be no need to edit the logs. Then on 300 mile days, hopefully you get paid well for it and aren't always the driver doing all of the work those days.

 

I used to start at midnight, run til 11:20, start back up at 21:20 and run til midnight on a Philly-Houston run. I'd log over 900 miles in a 24 hour period quite frequently, and legally
