Yeah I have to admit I'm tired of the lies and BS of this business, it bothers me that companies can lie thru they're teeth with no repercussions...I recently bought a house and have taken 5 weeks off this summer getting real fond of being home with mama so hummers little game made it an easy decision for me to walk when I already had a back up plan that's been in place since last year .
I will not return to trucking unless absolutely nessasary .
I don't have words to say how fed up I am with this business and these companies wine about a shortage of drivers ? ...get real !Still undecided, Sirscrapntruckalot, austinmike and 7 others Thank this. -

I personally couldn’t stand to be home weeks on end. I’d go insane. But the same is true about trucks. A month is my limit before i start getting cabin fever. Usually i only stay out about 3 weeks or so. This coming month out is an anomaly though since i’ll be flying to Michigan next month

That’s because you live with a roommate. 2 days would be enough for me. Plus you live in Salina Ks. Not the garden spot of things to do on your time off.

I would think you'd easily have enough small engine work to make a living in Omaha. There's a demand for that everywhere I live in a smaller town, roughly 6000 population granted its on the Mississippi river but the boat mechanic place here is about 3 weeks or more behind and that's from May to October. Here there's not many lawn mower/chainsaw repair places and the ones there are have no shortage of work. You could probably put an ad out for lawn mowers and chainsaws that people don't want and do a little work on them and resell them You'd probably be busier than you think. There's probably going to be people that'll see that ad and look at it as way to get rid of an old mower without having to pay for disposal
IMO it's a thought for someone with the fix it ability.cdavis188, austinmike, Dale thompson and 2 others Thank this. -
Yeah, but then your house looks like a lawn mower junk yard. And then the wife gets to #####ing about it. Then the next thing you know he’s ready to eat a #### salad just to get away from her. And boom he’s right back to trucking
