just curious about the facilities in North Little Rock, i'm looking at the website and all is says is a common kitchen area and tv area. does this mean all the food they ask you to bring goes in a cupboard and hope everyone else doesn't eat it. it also says nothing about showers or laundry. anyone have a clue. are they private showers or showering all together in one big shower and is there laundry on site or do you have to go somewhere....i talk to my advisor guy on thursday but would love to hear it from people who have been there since there is a bit more honesty on here. other than all that i'm pretty excited about getting started.
    thanks all

There should be shelving in each room for you to store your dry goods. ALL food that you leave in the common kitchen is at risk of being stolen. I would walk to the store every day to get food to heat up. Don't worry the store isn't that far. :) There were two bathrooms with showers in the building that I stayed in. I found it best to take my showers in the evening. There is always a line to get into the bathroom in the morning. There is a laundry room there. Free laundry detergent was provided.

The housing is horrible. Some of the trainers are just there to get a check. At times we students had to train ourselves. You are taught just enough classroom work to pass the written exam. Actually you are given the answers for the actual test. I had to think of my experience as going through bootcamp again. I endured the struggles because I knew that there was a job waiting for me at USA Truck.

I went through c1 in 11/07. I started driving for USA 11/07. My trainer didn't really teach me much. I was only there to get him miles. I was lacking very much in my backing and parking skills. Every chance you get you should practice parking and backing into docks. I've passed many parking spaces late at night because I didn't have the confidence or skill to get into them.

Working for USA was ok. They realized that I knew my logbook and could still deliver under certain "unrealistic" time frames. They kept me loaded and I usually didn't have to wait longer than an hour before I had my next load assignment. It's unfortunate that I had to work this way, but doing it the right way only got me small checks.

If you have anymore questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them.
