Day 3 and 4 are load securement, but mostly hands off. It’s definitely going to be a learn on the job type of thing. I really hope they don’t give me crazy loads to start.
I have finished my hours with my trainer. I had two different trainers because I got hurt on the job with the first one. I should be back at the terminal in a few days. Once I get back I should be placed in a truck of my own. Pay while in training is based on the ELD and is a flat rate of around $71 a day. My training required 70 hours of drive time, and most people should expect that requirement to be the same if they are a new driver.
Congratulations, hope they give you a decent tractor. Be safe out there! Lots of flatbed drivers on TTR with tons of experience..don’t hesitate to ask for advice on securing loads.
