There was a lot of fluff in the first article. I didn't read the second. It's simple, the new law calls for astronomical increases to the reserve funds. Some owners are getting hit with HOA fees 3 times what they were paying.
What no one is talking about----how many HOAs can you trust with that kind of money. Embezzling and misusing HOA funds is not uncommon in Florida.surf_avenue, Flat Earth Trucker, austinmike and 2 others Thank this. -

Here we go again, the sky is falling. Five alarm dumpster fire.
Wasn't long ago that all those South Florida high rise condos were empty. -
I looked at some condo's several years ago in Las Vegas. Loved the location, on a golf course in a serene setting. I don't play golf, but the price was right, so I thought.
Condos were selling for between $100G - $150G. Two bedroom.
Seemed too good to be true and it was.
Property taxes and Association Fees added up to $1700 a month. So, even paying cash for the condo, you're stuck with $1700 a month for as long as you own the condo.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
Don't let the door hitcha where the Good Lord splitcha!
As a native, I don't even want to live here any more myself. Way too many people now, traffic, crazy drivers, etc.
You will own nothing, and you will be happy!‘Olhand and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this.
