Most , if not all of you people, are not so bright.

I use this - it’s a realistic looking rock that holds a spare key.

It blends in with its natural environment.

I have it taped to my drivers step,

Requested Key codes used to be handwritten on the sales order forms back then. You could request the code on your new trucks to match the old ones.

Know thats funny right there. No matter who you are.
Gives me an idea. Those boot brushes on steps could make good key hiders. But then if everyone has one it would be no secret and then it would require a key to unlock a key and all those keys would be the same. Lol.

My door doesn’t lock by itself luckily. Can’t lock it and close the door either.

I tell them I can get in the truck using my professional lock out tools for $50 cash up front.

Lets face it back in the day it wasn’t necessary in most parts of the country to lock a truck. Trucks sat in parking lots idling, unlocked, windows down, and no one screwed with a truck. Truck drivers had that tough as nails biker type persona back then that no body screwed with. Trucks were hard and intimidating to drive. Then in the 90’s came the new millennium of pansy trucks and it all changed.

Trucks had to match the drivers.

SmallPackage and Kyle G. Thank this.

That’s actually a pretty good idea.

I think I’d still go with a magnetic box, or zip tied AND wire tied in an inconspicuous place.

    The_vett and SmallPackage Thank this.

Yes, that's what I mean. When the door is open if you press it down or the button to lock it will go to unlock when door is closed.

I always carry a spare key in my pocket for all vehicles. You can always put a spare key under the hood or near the battery box if you have the same truck all the time.
