I definitely don’t think this is the best company. The nicest thing I could say about them is , they’re in business. Just got here, it looks like a prison.
Got my first Job, now what?

Good advice, I’ll remember that.austinmike Thanks this.

Thanks for the info. The reason I asked about months is because I’m already looking for another job. There’s a lot of opportunities that open up for new guys after 3 months. Even more at 6, a year, etc. There was only 3 companies that would take me with no experience currently.austinmike Thanks this.

I got a headache already:/austinmike and Numb Thank this.

I can top that. I once worked an airport firetruck tech job. The owner had 2 kinds of employees. Those in rehab and those that needed it. ( I was the exception). I was put into a small motel room with some hayseed who got an 18 pack of coors light and commenced to drink every one of them. He had to have the door ( to the outside) wide open, the lights on, and it was in the 20s
outside. I didn't work there long. The boss/owner was a narcissistic fat ##.austinmike, tscottme, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's next to a prison, literally.austinmike and Chi Town Steers Thank this.

I’m pretty confident this is accurate information
Western Express Orientation
Day 1 - 700-1600
Check in (arrive early, unless you want to wait)
Physical (optional, if you bring valid long form)
(I was planning on doing it because it was free, but that would have been a very long wait)
Drug Test - urine
Welfare Check - this was weird
Road Test - 10 minutes, 3 drivers, drive second if possible
Videos - on your phone
Day 2 - 745-1600
Safety - a lot of waiting, meet some team members
they served food, I didn’t bother to see what it was. Supposedly there is a fitness center on the facility, but I haven’t seen it.
after day 2 orientation is over for van division
Flat bed has 2-3 days of securement trainging
Orientation is unpaid for days 1-2
Flatbed training securement is paid at $60 a day
once you get with a trainer, pay is $70 a day for everyone. You need 70 hours here to finish the training. A lot of guys can do it in 7-10 days.
after training you are supposed to be offered a truck, in time.
Van is currently starting at $0.40 cents per mile
Flatbed is at $0.48 cents per mile plus tarpaustinmike, Lonesome and Numb Thank this. -
.40 CPM! Wow! That's slavery.
Lonesome and Chi Town Steers Thank this. -
Yep, I was making more just driving Uber eats! Orientation is over tomorrow, and I’m leaving. Unless they have a trainer for me right away. Some people have been waiting over 3 weeks already!austinmike and Lonesome Thank this.
