I know somebody that had similar problems. Even my mechanic became frustrated with Cummins over the issue. PX and RX both - bad batch. I just happened to get lucky with mine and didn't have an issue. I've since sold the unit, but I really liked that engine.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

I’d like to add that not once has a check engine light ever accompanied the loss of an injector.

    blairandgretchen and Oxbow Thank this.

The world would be a better place if @woreout got hooked on N-14's instead of Cat's.

Another thing that I can add, is you gotta change injectors in pairs, 1-6, 3-4 and 5-2. If you change only one, another will follow within a year from that pair

BoxCarKidd, W923 and jldilley Thank this.

Seven weeks ago, we changed 2-5. This time 1-3-5 are all out.

I have china insite from when Rawze was still here.

Dam thing will be romping and shaking at idle, kick on either injector test and run smooth as glass until turn off insite.

Only way I've found the one to change is hi rpm and use Lazer thermometer.

    Frustrating.

I’ve heard that from other…. But can’t say it’s made much difference in my experience
    Can you explain why

Looks like something else is causing your injectors to go bad

Definitely. But it’s all speculation. No one has been able to come up with a solution.

They work in pairs. When you replace just one, the other in the pair can't keep with the new one, so it eventually goes out. That's the explanation I was given by my mechanic
