OK, let me set the stage.North Florida area.Flat-bed.
It was a warm, Friday afternoon, about 1 pm. I was north-bound on a rural -state 4 lane, fairly heavy traffic.
I saw a DOT car in the median, looking at my side. As I passed him, he fell in behind me, turned on blues, and I parked in a left turn lane in the median.
Middle age officer approaches drivers side, introduces himself. Very polite. Tells me he wants to perform an inspection, asks for paper-work. All is going well, not very nit-picking.
After checking truck,no problems found, I am told to remain in vehicle, and he walks back to his car. All very routine. I watch him in my mirror.
After a few minutes, he gets out of his car, goes around to passenger side and opens the rear door. Then he starts moving stuff around in back seat, like he is clearing out a place for me to sit.Starting to look bad. Finally walks back up to my truck.
I get worried, believing I am legal for everything I know of, but seeing him clear out the back seat makes me think is going to arrest me.
Well, he walks up to me and this is exactly what he says. " MR. ( MY NAME), you are the lucky driver this week". At this point I am very worried. He continues " GOD TOLD ME TO STOP THIS TRUCK AND SPEAK TO YOU, AND GIVE YOU THIS BIBLE". That is what he was doing moving stuff in the back seat, looking for a Bible to give me. For the next 30 + minutes, in the median of a busy 4 lane, he preaches to me about how my religion was wrong, and I should adopt his beliefs. Now he was very polite, but firm in his belief that I should change my point of view. He was of a Holiness Church, and while I do not attend Church on a regular basis, I do have my religion, being raised Baptist. I finally told him I had to be going.
I did not get mad, and even appreciated the fact he was taking his time to try and change me. But that was not the place or the time. Other drivers who have heard this story said I should complained to the head Diesel Bear, but I felt that was not needed. I enjoy keeping the Bible in my truck, and read it from time to time.Who knows, he may have made a difference in my life. He just did it the wrong way, probably.

    Baack Thanks this.

Yea, Id have to say that would have been the wrong time for it. I really dont see much of a reason to complain to his C/O unless he would have written me a ticket after the preaching.
