It’s a good thing they at least make a mess, means they did something on that zerk. Last time i took a company trailer to the shop, they replaced a wheel seal, it started leaking again as soon as repair was completed and I rolled to the parking spot

 

Yep. Had that happen to me once also. Tuns out the tech didn't have the right size jig to drive it onto the spindle. So he used the next size larger and drove it on too far.

 

S cams on regular greasing need 1 pump

 

I don't believe that explanation for a second.

 

Grease can't push out a retaining snap ring.

Most likely the bushings were already wore out, otherwise the cam couldn't have twisted. Or maybe the snap ring was missing and the cam slid out enough to catch on the hub.

 

Exactly, there are s cam head washer on ends that will allow excess grease to flow past it and prevent it from contaminating brake shoes

 

That explanation those shops gave you stinks of horse#### to me. There's no way overgreasing caused that bracket to snap like that. If someone on here could disprove me with a logical reason as to how it could have, I'll humbly eat my words on that.
