He/she got off real easy. Put the ship and it's crew in great danger and only busted one rank. Can still retire with a fat pension; fat like he/she is.

He/she has 4 hashmarks on he/she uniform. That means he/she can retire in less than 4 years.
How many truckers can have that plan? Don't defend he/she.broke down plumber and mjd4277 Thank this. -
Well if retirement bores him/her she could always do a side gig involving illegal cable hookups, FireStick jailbreaks, etc.!!LMAO

Stupid people doing stupid things. The Chief's mess on the last ship i was on got busted for having liquor on board. We had left Singapore and the XO called a snap full ship inspection. Between the liquor and the drugs, there was quite the haul.

That was no coincidence, the XO knew that some sailors might bring contraband on board during their shore leave/liberty!

We pulled into Sint Maarten for a weeks liberty. Was on water hours at the same time we dropped anchor.
No showers. The Chief's were going ashore with fresh showers. The CO noticed that and went berserk. He was screaming, "I''m the CO and respect water hours along with the crew." All hell broke loose. Some Warrant Officer turned the water on for Chief's quarters only. The CO had them all cowering. The CO was a former Swift Boat officer with a Silver Star. He didn't take crap from anyone. All the E-6 and below really liked him and all the khaki's feared him.

buzzarddriver and Nahbrown Thank this. -
So for the non-military truckers like myself, what's the problem with running wifi on a ship?Opus Thanks this.

I was AF not Navy but OPSEC (Operational Security) comes to mind.
when you are using a secure network onboard I assume they are monitoring for violations to OPSEC, like disclosure of the ship’s schedule of locations.
Popping up your own starlink system would circumvent that.mjd4277, Chinatown, Lpirtle and 1 other person Thank this.
