The journey begins - purchased a truck.

This guy here, decides he can take up 3 parking spots at once, what an a-hole.

Scenery is pretty here, but Nash dabbit, it was 108 degrees today.

Henderson,NV.

I keep looking for @Chinatown to bring me some high quality bourbon and delicacies, but he's not around.

 

Not this time. An existing Costco at Marks Rd, in Henderson. Just the one tank, not a cat herding mission like the 5 tanks to Bend,OR.

Be glad to get it gone - felt like fly swatting on I-40 all the way, keeping muppets from running into the load.

It's been 10 years since the bride and I ran this stretch regular twice a week, and boy - the caliber of drivers has changed.

 

Thought about it, but he had that ‘sawn off’ look about him.

Creeping around in a Brunners t-shirt like he was the big man on the block.

I didn’t need that parking spot anyway.

 

Ain’t seen Laredo in a bit. It’s interesting out here - haven’t been here in a long time.

 

And away she goes. turned up at 7am, left at 2pm. The crane guys heard 'Monday' instead of 'Friday' - so they turned up about 10am. The other delay was a gravel/digging/backfill SNAFU that took a while to catch.

Anyways. Same guys from the Bend,OR job were there, so that was nice.



So while I was hanging out waiting, a few people came up to ask what the tank was, and we got chatting. One guy - Hank, 69 year old guy - stayed a while longer and we talked about living in Henderson/politics/getting older etc. He left and said he had to go to the Costco to get some water, and was going to come back if I was still there.

I decided to go get a Jersey Mikes sub, and when I returned to the truck, he had left these on my drivers floorboard.

Kinda nice I thought. Seem to be fairly friendly folks in that area from the handful I overheard or ran into.
