Keep in mind, Bison is a Canadian company, so you probably WILL see Canada. If your state has the 'enhanced license', get that. If you need to get a passport, request it now, because they can take WEEKS to arrive. And I don't know what you'll need for the dog, so ask.

Although Bison bought out HO Holding with 300 or so trucks there in Amherst, Wi. Working ran mostly WI to NY when I worked there, maybe never have to go to Canada, I'm not sure

Just to add a little clarification: there are actually two Bisons, really both two sides of a single company. There's the original Bison based up in Winnipeg—the one most know—and then there's Bison USA, the combined entity of what used to be Britton Transport (whom I used to drive for on the flatbed side), Hartt Transportation, which gave them more northeast lanes into and out of Maine, and HO Wolding, whose HQ in Amherst WI morphed into Bison USA's new US-based HQ. Bison USA will still run into Canada, but unless something changed over the past year or two, you may not go past a switch or drop yard up there where a Bison driver will repower the trailer to wherever it's going). You'll know which is which by the color of the tractors...Bison's tractors are that ugly gold color while Bison USA's tractors are mostly white (with the same Bison logo on the side).

I can't speak for how things are now, but Britton-turned-Bison USA was good to me as a driver (again, I ran flatbed, which at the time had only about 30 of Britton's just-shy-of-200-truck fleet). With me, it was dispatch the load and go, no micromanaging. I've heard they've installed two-way cameras since the changeover and merger into Bison USA, but I don't know for sure. I DO know they allowed pets (dang near every Bison driver I worked with and passed by had one). All trucks had inverters, APUs and refrigerators, and were (and probably still are) governed at 65mph.

I know they run thru Minnesota/I-90 OFTEN (owing to having terminals in both Sioux Falls SD and up in Grand Forks ND, which used to he Britton's HQ), and of course, Amherst being a straight shot via WI-29 off the 90 in WI. @ the OP: it might be worth giving them a call and seeing whether that will work out for you.

I don't have anything recent. Lots of companies have gone quiet the past few months.
I don't know anything negative about Magnum.

I think at this point holland is the best bet. Latest I’ve heard is Great Plains’ insurance is cancelled or about to be revoked.

I’m leaving the LTL division of magnum and speaking to the OTR drivers there they are not happy with the amount of work or pay I would look elsewhere.
