    empty but full of fuel we are 39000lbs, 8.4 mpg today on I40 from Greensbro NC to Nashville Tn, so not flat ground.

    They didn’t give us a repair kit

    we had options and loved the idea of two milk crate shelves above the chains & binders. I like that its make out of aluminum so I can drill holes to hold stuff like our push broom and crow bar

    8.4 mpg at 39,000 pounds actually is pretty good considering that heading westbound on I-40 means going through the Smoky and Appalachian mountain ranges. Is your Volvo equipped with a D13,D15 or Cummins X15 engine?

    Very nice, congratulations!!


    As @blairandgretchen mentioned, get ready to get pissed off. If your roller guide along the rub rail has some good flat spots, have some bright NO BUMP stickers made up and attach to both sides of the trailer.

    I’ve been so mad at times I wanted to pull the operator off the forklift!!

    There are some good operators out there, but they are few and far between.

    Keep in mind, just because they can start and move the machine doesn’t make them an operator…..

    We bought the 53 foot steel trailer new from Dorsey. We picked it up from the factory on Tuesday and took it to the eagle rolling tarp system dealer on Wednesday . He had it done for us on Friday.

    Thanks I'm in my 50s and do step deck, but of course I hate tarping. I think about getting a Conestoga. I'm in Texas now. No Conestogas. Last week michigan lots of Conestogas.
