I haul propane as a transport driver (semi truck) from refinery to distribution plants where the bobtail haul out of. Amerigas is VERY safey oriented and in my area they have driver cams in all the bobtail trucks and company semi trucks
I'm an owner operator so I don't have one, but alot of the bobtail guys hate them. On the other hand, they all say they make great money.
In my opinion, Amerigas is a great company and they treat me very well, but that's just my personal experience as an owner op. Also, I guess it boils down to what sort of people you end up working beside out of whatever plant your gonna be running out of.
Like the others have stated, they are extremely safety and policy oriented and they follow a matrix as far as discipline or termination concerned.
Good luck to you if you do go to work there though!

But that works because I just switched jobs to these guys since my last job actually shut down while hiring me (lol wtf right?)
Came with a ridiculous 5k bonus and hourly pay (32,50) with OT. Coming from mega tanker OTR this feels like the #### lottery. I have not yet hit one year exp even (lol), but close. Accepted the offer letter today. Tbh after their zoom interview I was convinced I wouldnt get it, what a nice surprise.
Im their newest bobtailer….heck call it for what it is, straight truck. I dug through their listings to compare, it seems the avg for this role is around the 26$ mark, I guess my area is an outlier. Appalachia Mountains + super rural. Prob only 3/4 people at the depot im going toLast edited: Nov 4, 2024

Very true. I had actually started out typing that lol…but I backspaced it because I felt like it was rambling. Id have zero issues going slow as hell on these hills since its my first hourly in trucking at last.
also true about maybe not having to leave (which would be 2 years away anyway), it does seem like a lovely position
