Awww man!!! I'm sorry to hear this! I hope dad is keeping strong! One thing I loved about my dispatcher before he retired is that he allowed me that time with my dad. He was giving me some health scares and has heart surgery but he still pushing through! Thank God! With God, you're going to be alright driver!

Food-grade tanker fleets don't want dog/cat hair (on drivers) near (or over) tank hatches.

It's a potential food hygiene issue....

Whoooaaa!! This makes sense! I didn't think of this. I would think drivers would keep lint rollers and keep clean especially if the shedding is crazy. I know I try my best in that area. Or why not offer some type of cover for over the clothes?

Part of the appeal of food-grade tanker work....is not having to "suit up" (as opposed to a lot of hazmat tanker duty)....especially during the warmer months.

If Indian River Transport does in fact allow pets -- then your food-grade search may well be over.

Not sure at all about the pet policies of the other carriers listed above -- inquire within.

Note also....if "Fido" suddenly needs to "go"....while at a shipper's/receiver's facility -- those locations are of course not in the same class as roadside rest stops -- nor do they prefer to be viewed as anything close to such.

If Fido is pad-trained then this is a non-issue, but if he's not then just let Fido do his business shortly before you roll into the customer.

Just get a teddy bear You don't need an animal in the cab with you for company.
Good luck finding any tanker company that allows animals. If You can get into tankers at all right now consider yourself lucky

Tanker can be pretty lane specific, so where you live is important. Out of the majors bynum and flowtrans are the bottom of the barrel . Both pay very little and miles are inconsistent. Indian river is working at fitting in with those two. Oakley pays the best out of the Florida 4 but treatment isn't the best. Celadonia haulers is probably one of the top out of the megas, then you start getting into smaller fleets.
