Yesterday, as I was walking into work, I noticed a white Volvo pulling a shorty sea container from Chang Ming lines. I thought this was strange, as we are primarily a defense contractor, therefore we don't by containers of Chinese cr@p. Driving the truck was a young man of indeterminate heritage (Arabic? south Asian?), who yelled something out the window to me, which I could not understand. Realizing that I couldn't hear him, he opened his door to get out, whereupon his truck started rolling since he had neglected to set his brakes. He actually lost one of his flip-flops while quickly jumping back into the truck!
It turns out he was looking for the warehouse across the street; the one which had a sign with letters and numbers 2' high in front of it.....

Your day is over when you lose your flip flop. Poor guy. How do you explain that to the guys back at the shop?D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Flip flops be damned, at least he was willing to get out of his truck and come to you for the answer instead of expecting you to walk over to him.
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
I was at a US foods warehouse the other day. Distribution center. One of the ones that’s very strict about wearing reflective gear and no open toed shoes. As there was about 15 of us In the morning, checking in to get unloaded, I begin looking around the room and I noticed only two Had closed shoes or boots on. The rest were wearing either flip-flops or some Of what look liked shower sandals. The very stern lady working behind the reception counter came out, looked down at the ground at everyone’s feet and said those of you Who do not have closed toed shoes. You have signed the document stating that you will wear closed shoes. You need to go back to your trucks and change your shoes. Most of them didn’t understand what she was saying first of all, and those that did protested that they didn’t have any other footwear to put on. Only more pairs of sandals. She turned them all away. Gave them a paper where the local Walmart was so they could go buy the proper footwear and return. I couldn’t believe it. Maybe things are finally changing.

ive always been the type to walk to people or meet them halfway , now its getting to the point it seems like half the places i go they yell at you for getting out of your truck... Then one lady told me to get out of the truck and put my hard hat on, then got mad because my hard hat is in my side box and i had to walk 16 inches outside my truck without it on... Take a chill pill for a secondGearjammin' Penguin, wulfman75, MACK E-6 and 4 others Thank this.
