I agree, even in a crappy market you should be able to do at least $4,000 per week top line with a big truck and trailer. Personally I would have zero financial problems if I could gross that every week consistently, but for what I do even 2 can be a challenge. I look more at the whole month now because week to week can be inconsistent running irregular route OTR. Guys with set routes and dedicated customers have it a little easier in that regard to stay consistent week to week. (But they also have a "job" they have to be accountable to and cant just come and go as they please)

Maybe you don't know how bad is at Schneider right now. The average is $1.5 - $1.6 per mile.

That’s not even counting the 200-300 mile dead head between almost every load there …

And it will stay like that as long as they have knuckleheads that will haul it. Rates always goes up when freight sits, it goes up until it moves.

They have a lot of company drivers and a brokerage, their freight won't sit no matter what the owner operators do. And they are lying to them that they pay 65% of the contracted freight.

hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

How much you think all these carriers playing games with the rates?

Like selling loads to yourself, say Schneider logistics selling loads to Schneider National.

Create a brokerage company, sell your loads cheap to your own carrier and the flease guys not really truly getting the real rate.

Somehow most all these carriers with contractors leased on always getting ridiculous low rates.

You don't really believe carriers with leverage and trailer pools are locking in below market rates do you lol.

Schneider states that you'll haul a 100% contracted freight. It means no brokers are involved. Which is a big lie. They have loads going for 50-60 cpm on the app.

Is Schneider logistics a separate company just like Schneider finance?

You know a mega carrier is not locking down $1 a mile loads lol.

Ask Schneider to see the contracts for those $0.60 a mile loads. Then again that doesn't matter because they can photoshop it.
I've gotten burned by multiple carriers playing games with rates in the past, as why I only book my own loads from now on.
There is nothing more despicable than your own carrier screwing you.

This is exactly why I sold my truck after 7 years and started working for a company. I wasn’t making any better money for my personal account than I am now. Of course I had a business bank account, but that was for truck expense. And when I sold out, Uncle Sam cleaned out all the profit I made off the equity.
