Unless the signals are being broadcast over analog waves, then yes they are obsolete without that box. What is so hard to believe about that?

They warned everyone 2 years in advance, and the converter box works just fine. My mother in law has been using one since they changed over with no issues...

Yea thats fine. I'd mentioned the same thing. But he didn't say "with a digital converter box it works fine" he said the TV could catch a nice picture with the right antenna. That's not true. As photographed, the only thing that TV would show on the screen was static, no matter what antenna was used.

But ironically enough, he was kinda wrong about needing "the right antenna." As the antenna that came with that TV would work just fine with digital signals. The frequency of the TV stations didn't change, just the format of the signals. So if you could shove a converter box into the butt of that TV, you could use that antenna it came with and it would work fine. If the box was hidden then the TV could look just like that one.

I just found out today that my last company that I left because I had to go take care of my dad who recently had a stroke, well they decided to totally scumbag me and report a lot of incredibly negative and verifiably untrue nonsense regarding the 4 weeks that I worked with them in recent months.

They reported at least six violations of company policy, none of which they put in writing and reviewed with me. In fact most of what they reported I can very easily refute using a series of text messages sent between myself and the manager who would have reported the information. They quite literally reported me as being in violation of company policy for things that they and others have claimed full responsibility for in writing.

Also local law enforcement had gotten involved regarding one incidence which law enforcement cleared me off, however, the trucking company's insurance provider was required to get involved on the trucking company's behalf though I have not had to assume any responsibility or liability per law enforcement ruling.

The day that this trucking company informed me that their insurance company could no longer carry me as a driver the manager informed me that there had been an accident in the month prior to my hiring which got them in hot water with their insurance company. My take is that they went ahead and hired me not knowing if they would be able to retain me as a driver long-term due to this insurance debacle. Suffice it to say that what transpired while I was driving for them which required their insurance provider to become involved effectively sealed my fate.

Now I would say that they're just trying to stick it to me because they're upset because their insurance provider is upset or something. I had thought that I left this company on amicable terms and what came down to being a circumstance out of my control and the company's control. Due to a dispute that I am currently in involving them I am not going to name the company but I do intend on naming them once the dust settles.

I don't know your situation so I can't give advice but the very first company I drove for dinged my DAC for something they outright admitted was the other drivers fault. I was passing someone doing 10 under in a construction zone, a tanker yanker. The only barrels were on the left shoulder. In the middle of passing all of a sudden the guy just swings over into my lane. I lay on the horn and yank the wheel to the left, taking out some barrels. I chase him down and call it into my safety department. Pulled over later and took pics. They said they pulled the dashcam footage and their response was "We don't know why that guy just suddenly drove you into those barrels."

When I quit, they put it as an incident on my DAC. I was so mad. But so happy to just be done with them.

If it's verifiably untrue, get a lawyer.

i have an old tv antenna on the side of my house, probably something installed several decades ago. I’m wondering if there’s a way to rewire it to connect it to modern televisions. From what i can gather, the antenna doesn’t care how it receives the signal, it just needs a TV or converter box that can decode the signal

What kind of end does it have on it? If its a co-ax connector that will screw right into modern TV's.

There is no such thing as an "HD antenna." Antennas are tuned to specific frequencies, not HD signals. All they do is pick up a signal and send it to the TV or box. I used a 30 year old set of rabbit ears for many years when I first bought my house. The new digital signals are the same frequency as the old analog ones. So yes, old TV antennas, in good shape, will work perfectly fine. No modifications needed.
