I hate what Christmas has become. Used to family get together, now moms dead, so no one gets together, who knew that we all went to visit just to see her...
Everyone expects me to get then all something amazing.. i get a plaid shirt that i throw away.
I don’t want a red and black spotted shirt, nor a blue and black square shirt.. I’m not an attention hound trying to stand out in a crowd.
So i spend $200 or so, they get me a $9.95 shirt. I now give advice. ‘Dont get me nothing, so your feelings won’t be hurt when you get nothing.’

 

My grandmother passed family gatherings over the holidays stopped. Which is pretty sad. But I got a mobile home that makes money. Most of the time.

 

Lol, this triggered a memory long since forgotten. When I was 3 or 4 I remember my parents saying them very words "I hate what Christmas has become.". That was nearly 65 years ago....

 

Well 'bah humbug" to you as well.
Christmas isn't about getting, it's about giving. I tell people all the time to not get me anything. If I wanted it, or needed it, I'd already have it.
Christmas is all about family. My most memorable one was last Christmas when we went to my sons house and we're all sitting around the kitchen table. The Hazul asks young Addison when her father was going to pick her up. She said that he's not because he had other things to do. And The Hazul replied, "That's because he's a looser mother F'r."
We all just sat in stunned silence for a moment, then Jake said, "who's ready for some ribs?"
Ah, Christmas. The most wonderful time of the year.
Remember, it's all about giving, not getting.
