Okay so I'm guessing there's a big difference between electronic and mechanical engines visually. Like the difference between mechanical carbureted and electronic fuel injected engines in cars?
Landstar was one of the carriers I looked at. I saw that they didn't have a truck age limit but they did have an ELD requirement. ( unlike the carrier that I'm currently a company driver with jrayl... I got to take a look at their contract as well and I saw that they have a CARB requirement, ( even though they don't run to California to my knowledge.) So that pretty much sets an age limit of 2010 unless it's newer these days.cke Thanks this. -
Carb doesn't necessarily mean California.
Sounds like some eastern states are also enforcing carb. -
That's a good way to look at it. Just spend a couple more years reading and learning all you can before you spend a dime. A lot can happen between now and then. Frankly, im willing to bet the more you dig into this and the more you learn youll most likely realize it's not a sound financial move.

I actually came out of the trucking to success seminar by ooida last week.. I learned a great deal but they didn't really talk a whole lot about what trucks to buy mainly to how to buy a truck so I'm currently working on filling those gaps in my knowledge. So far it sounds like I should go back to the drawing board and come up with a different business strategy

OOIDA is not your friend. You're just another pocket to pick.CorsairFanboy Thanks this.

Out of curiosity do you happen to know what's wrong with them? I had another driver tell me that some of their products may not be in my best interest but that doesn't tell me much, I'm genuinely curious on what I should be looking out for from them

The more you research, the more you'll find that the driver/truck are nothing more than the mule. Nearly everything and everyone surrounding them are there to make money off them. They may come in different shapes and sizes but the results are the same in the end. There's multiple layers of industries taking much money from the pot.CorsairFanboy Thanks this.

I've noticed that ever since I've gotten into trucking, (in 2019.) I've been running into a lot more girls in my personal date life that were just after my money because I am a driver and not my heart... and from what I've heard so far it's even worse leased on or own authority.DUNE-T Thanks this.
