Great plains transport not so great

That's a #### shame. Yeah, Mike wasn't the best thing to happen to GPT. I was fuming when Casey left (forced out). He was a good man. It was my favorite company for sure. So sad.

 

Mike totally ruined the company to the point where they have nothing but crap east coast freight off the load boards, and oos rating that is now tanking and equipment (whatever they havent sold off) that’s poorly maintained junk…. Even the Penske trucks they rented are rock-bottom. Yet mike thinks he’s king of the heap…more like a heap of ####. He’s basically an egotistical, d-bag little creep with the mentality of a teenager. All the “office” people work remotely or quit before long because of his spoiled toddler temper. At least his Dad was a great guy who respected the people working for him.

Looks like they sold the GPT property, supposedly the ceo wants to move the company “to another market” claiming it’s too expensive to bring trucks through there. Funny thing is he sold the place but has no idea where he’s moving to? I’m surprised GPT has lasted this long after he took the place over. Meanwhile the “red” company just around the corner is doing great and expanding. Hmmmm..,

 

Will we see another Arrow Truck style closure here? If they sold the property, no place to move to, that doesn't sound too good.

Casey was definitely great to deal with. In fact Mike had a habit of canning everyone who worked good with the drivers and made things better. By the time I left 90 % of the “office” people were working remote because he was such a toxic #### to deal with, especially on teams. He would scream and yell at people even his own father. If anyone dared question or suggest anything even the slightest he would rip them to shreds or just fire them on the spot. I’ll admit just standing next to him in a room was uncomfortable. It was like standing next to a live grenade that might go off at any second.

Last I heard he kept claiming on one of his weekly “EOS preachfests” that he wanted to move the whole thing to Minnesota or some other market. Personally I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the cause of the whole mess between GPT & holland some years ago.

 

Truth be told I’m surprised Bob put up with that. Mike should’ve been canned years ago. He was toxic before you started there.

 

I think he has Bob shut out of the whole thing. Rumor has it there were instances Mike was getting real vicious towards him. He was even bragging about getting into fights because Bob was not happy about his ideas. But once Mike took total control he even removed his dad’s office. It’s a shame because Bob was really great, took care of the people that were doing a great job and gave the company a good “family” atmosphere.
