Ultrasonic leak detector - hope this link is valid.

It helps, but not the be all and end all. Soapy bubblies help too.

You'll drive yourself nuts trying to track them all down and repair, my '95 holds air for about 24 hours , and that's about all you get.

Dumb stuff like a truck getting rocked in the wind, and the leveling valve adjusting - even a new truck will dump air over a couple of days.

Example - I have a 120' ICT sleeper, rear door. Every time I step out the back door I hear the bags adjust, it'll run the tanks down pretty quick.

I now worry about things completely out of my control :)

What is the D.O.T. limit on psi loss rate?

Did you check your air bags on the cab and or sleeper? I had an air leak on my lines a while back to the cab air bags. I took a pump up sprayer filled with soapy water and sprayed down the entire truck until I found it. Shockingly it was the last thing I would have thought.

Had an air leak like that, only happened when I was either rolling at 10mph or pressing the breaks. Issue was found and valve fixed.

After 20 years I should know this.

Umm - "Inflate air system completely to 120 PSI - shut off truck - Mash on foot pedal - no more than 15PSI loss in 30 seconds?"

    I think I just failed. I can't remember.

3 psi per minute from 120. Which if a parked truck losses all its air in an hr or two technically fails.

Phew -thanks. I knew I was miles off.

I do know - it'll drive you insane chasing air leaks. That's not mentioned in the CDL manual.

    Heya,

First time I have ever seen anything like this at all.

Has it actually worked for you in past?

Always used to untracable minor leaks over the years & a huge soap chaser. Many times fruitless effort, but always bugs the ####z out of me.

Also, found out can get air loss from auto shift transmission systems vents.

Thanks for link, just unsure if anything worthwhile. But, found interesting as never seen.

    Thanks

Just curious if it has ever succeeded after even soap chasing.
