When I owned my truck, or took the company truck home, I would drop the trailer at the exit at MM72, on the Indiana Toll Rd. There are areas where people park trucks, trailers, etc. Bobtailed the 4 miles to home.

If dropping a trailer at an unsecured location be sure to use a king pin lock.

This is the biggest reason I work for a local company.l just don’t understand why guys will look for jobs with companies hundreds of miles away from home when in most cases the same job is in driving distance to their house.they take jobs where they can’t park at the terminal and end up parking where there aren’t allowed at getting towed or truck or trailer gets broken in. I personally don’t need the headaches of being responsible for a truck and trailer and what ever is loaded on it with no place safe to park

On a side note, if a company truck gets towed, who’s paying to get it out? And could that result in job loss?

    tscottme Thanks this.

It depends why it was towed. If it was towed because driver chose an illegal parking spot, driver pays. I drove my company truck into soft mud under deep snow and needed a tow. That was charged to me. Make good decisions.

Lonesome and Chi Town Steers Thank this.

I did that once as well.

The customer said to go to the end of the street to turn around. All the trucks do it.
But, it had rained overnight and I sunk in the mud.
There was no damage to the truck so I called for a tow truck and paid for the tow. Otherwise I would have had a preventable accident on my record.

Total bull#### getting blackmarked for getting stuck. If I had trucks I wouldn't #### over drivers for something like that.

Dang! I was told if a tow is required it’s counted as accident. Was that the case for you? I almost got stuck in a dollar general lot. There was ice covering a 2 foot pot hole and I assumed it was safe to drive over but luckily I backed right out.
