So when it’s done it will have about the same amount of parking that it currently has?
The_vett and motocross25 Thank this. -
Ya seems odd. That place is huge. The rest area west of Indy on 70 needs a complete remodel, the parking is so tight I won't even consider stopping there....
-
I’ve stopped in there to take a whiz already, but I agree, it’s so tight, I don’t like the idea of sleeping thereThe_vett, motocross25 and JonJon78 Thank this.

I actully ran out of hours there once since my first 2 choices were already full. Wasnt my favorite thing but any port in a storm as they say. At the time i had a fairly short rig with a 40 foot trailer so it wasnt awful....for me at least. Guy 2 spaces down from me got his front end ripped off by a truck leaving though.
Do not recomend parking there unless you have no other choice. Place needs a serious redesign and expansion to be around 3 or 4 times the size.The_vett, motocross25, JonJon78 and 2 others Thank this. -
Horrible parking aside, the worst thing about the Plainfield ones is no room to pick up speed before merging.
The_vett, Bean Jr., motocross25 and 2 others Thank this. -
The new/renovated truck stop should have valet parking.
The_vett Thanks this. -
Why does it always take at least a year or more to renovate rest areas?The_vett Thanks this.
-
The actual work involved doesn't take a year or more. Why does it get drug out for so much more time than the job takes? I could only speculate. Maybe work gets rained out a lot?
No....gotta be something else.
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
