The problem is the fuel is to hot and it breaks down an plugs the injectors the fuel filter system holds the heat in they need remote spin on filters Diesel breaks down after 126 degrees so your engine runs at 185 plus a fuel cooler could help or they need Bosch to make there injectors

Diesel is just fine at 210 f.

It used to be when it had sulfur in it

After reading this you're making me wonder at those temperatures would it run better up north here in minus 1 to 4 Fahrenheit temperatures? And if so would tbe longevity be better for the motor?
-
The motor is a POS and Paccar knows it.
ducnut Thanks this. -
The problem with the injectors is that our government has to subsidize farmers and they force junk biofuel on us. They’re not having injector issues overseas like we are here.
-
So paccar mx13 its a bad motor?
-
Put it this way, a mechanic at Peterbilt broke it down to me. He said ('Off the record') thousands of the MX13 motors have defective injectors. Head Office knowd this and getting another injector manufacturer making better ones (allegedly). However, like my case they want to know that the motor is bogging down big time nearly shutting off before they fix it by using the limited amount of new injectors regarding the warranty. Honestly, IMO its b.s. I bought a new truck in 2022 in order of avoiding these problems. Yet, here I am. And Peterbilt doesn't reimburse any O/O with shop down time. So its a lose lose situation financially. I should of gone with my initial instincts 'When that Salesman introduced me to Paccar. I wanted to put a Cummins engine in or Detroit in my truck when specced for the order. However the new Cummins motors X15 I'm reading and hearing from mechanics are no good either so Detroit motors seems to be the safest bet. Tows cost to much when adding in the garage downtime. So, I'm staying local 600 mile radius for my freight loads until I know that more of those new injectors are available to replace the garbage ones and using more injector cleaner when fueling up.Last edited: Mar 5, 2025
