He's mentioned in the past that he doesn't want to pull a tanker either.

I've seen ads for them, their "up to" pay doesn't impress me, so the average of what I would make wouldn't be much, if any of an improvement over what I am doing now.

I am getting too old to try new types of freight and be the low man on the experience totem pole. It's probably best that I stick to what I know in order to finish out my career.

Gotcha. I don’t think there are any really good open deck companies down your way, if I hear something I’ll let you know.

Honestly pulling food grade tanker would take about a week tops to learn. You don’t really do anything but haul it down the road. You don’t unload or load it yourself

They are the in-house carrier put straight in a door, unloaded immediately deliver between 6-11 open appointments

From what I saw in their thread Indian river doesn’t do any loading unloading the customer does it all

My days of open deck are over when I leave here. It was stupid of me to think switching to this type of freight in my mid-50's was a good idea. It's back to door slamming for me for the rest of my driving days.

We have plenty of old drivers where I am. They pull tankers, rolloffs, and vans. It’s not strenuous or difficult by any stretch of the imagination. Heck, some of them even do vac tanks in their 60’s.

I've looked into them. No openings within 250 miles of my zip code except an hourly local field service tech (or something like that) and that was with an affiliated company in Jax.
