The DEF header is probably on vacation. At least it's a warranty repair. This is a national problem. DEF systems are a joke. And the part is likely on backorder. If it starts flashing or beeping, find an exit or a good place to pull over. There are two malfunction types. One of which is derate and eventual shutdown, which you will absolutely hate. When your ECM thinks you are out of juice, you are stuck waiting for a tow. Get this into the shop. I am sorry this is happening to you.

Our APU’s coolant is plumbed thru the fuel tank and engine block. It was 25 below in grand forks the other day, ran the APU truck fired right up.Friend and Knucklehead Thank this.

Have had the issue of pumps shutting off early or before amount assigned in fuel solution, but not in the yard. Last one it shut off at 49.4 gallons instead of the 50 I was supposed to get. Complained about it and was told it was the pump not the system.
After running the last month of fuel solutions keeping me above 3/8s, these last two solutions have had me really lean. I ended up putting 95 gallons in on an 1/8th of a tank right as the low fuel level light came on. I knew it would be close. Now I'm supposed to do 663 miles on those 95 gallons to the next fuel stop. Will probably need DEF before that anyways with this new daily limit.
And that's twice in a row that the system has decided that these fuel stops must be the cheapest and sends me right back to the same fuel stops.Rugerfan Thanks this. -
Would be nice with these fancy ID cards, if they would have added a mag stripe and given us building access through a card reader.

I thought Magnum ran tank heaters on their trucks? I guess you learn something new everyday. That would explain why it was almost 30 below in WI one time and truck fired right up even with no anti-gel or #1 dieselIH9300SBA and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

I would get that into the shop asap.. cause it seems like your sensor is going bad and that def level sensor is a sensor that goes out frequently on all these trucks. Basically it’s telling you that it’s gotten less def than what you actually have and it will shut you down eventually… and I had them go out on my Peterbilt just as frequently FYIMidWest_MacDaddy and Silverdriver Thank this.

Delivered my load of gearboxes Friday morning in Deshler then headed up Lincoln for a preloaded trailer of fence. This is my first fence load since 12/13 according to my load book I keep. Glad to see us get some of these loads back in the rotation.
MidWest_MacDaddy, wulfman75, runningman0661 and 1 other person Thank this.
