One thing to consider in this Lease vs buying discussion. As someone who just bought from a dealer in the last three months, there are still so many trucks being repossessed or turned in to lenders, that lenders have actually been tightening up who they are willing to offer credit to on a commercial loan.
Too many people bought equipment with PPP or SBA loans during the pandemic that had no business getting these loans.
A first time truck buyer with decent credit will need a minimum of $15K to $20K down, and depending on their credit the interest on that loan could be as high as 18%.

So yes armed with that I would still go with the plan I outlined above. Would it succeed? I don’t know. Would it fail? I don’t know. None of us know for sure how things will turn out in the future.
Will I ever pull the trigger and go buy a truck? Maybe when my wife retires in a few years. She wants to see the country, and I want to show it to her. Maybe I could do that and make some money at the same time.Goody3635 and Knucklehead Thank this. -

Delivered my Lozier load in Lebanon TN this morning. My appt was set for 9a, I arrived at 7:45a. Place opened at 8a, there was a FCC in front of me with a 7am appt.
We both go inside and check in, he checks in first as he was there first. After he walks out to hit a door, the receivers are speaking amongst themselves about how his load was yesterdays load (he said he picked it up from someone to deliver).
I get a door, hit a door, they slam the dock plate and had me unloaded before 9a. I pull over to speak to the other guy to check and see if they just started on him and to let him know what I overheard from them. As we talk, a 3rd truck comes in.
Lozier to Lebanon isn’t your typical load considering I said dock plate.
Lastly, HOMETIME! Got home at 1p. I go back out Monday. Stay safe everyone!motocross25, runningman0661, Knucklehead and 3 others Thank this.
