I asked him if he's still there and that’s what he said.
JForce28 and asphaltreptile311 Thank this. -

Get your hazmat and give Oakley a call. I made a little over 700 a week driving a garbage truck for the city and I started at 6 am and was home watching tv by 11 and went back to punch out for 2. 700-800 a week for #### near 70 hours of work away from home is crazy.tscottme, Gearjammin' Penguin and nextgentrucker Thank this.

Yeah, 56CPM at 2800 miles is decent, that's if she's telling the truth, I honestly see no reason for her to lie, but I'll think about it.JForce28 Thanks this.

Ahhh, okay. In my best Johnny Carson voice... "I did not know that".tscottme Thanks this.

You'll run up & down I-81 to the northeast quite a bit with Big G unless they stopped doing that in last 10 years.
Every recruiter is going to say their trucks average 2500 miles per week, regardless if it's true or not. I'd much rather work tankers than go on I-81 often.firemedic2816, rollin coal, nextgentrucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ah Yes, I-81, good times... They go to the Northeast a lot? Bynum it is then, ####... So the myth is true huh, every recruiter lie. Hopefully she didn't lie about the pay...Last edited: Apr 10, 2025

They (also) haul loads of booze -- whiskey, bourbon, vodka, etc.
That stuff is flammable.

If you go into the tanker world....without a hazmat endorsement....you limit yourself to the loads you can pull -- & the better-paying loads will (instead) go to other drivers who have a hazmat.
If you want good paying loads....but without a hazmat...you need to be looking at reefer freight.
But reefer has its own set of gremlins & nightmares.
Also: Oakley Transport (Lake Wales, FL) is NOT a good place to learn tanker.
For that...Indian River is a better choice....or even KAG (which has its own food tanker fleet).
Best of luck....
-- Lnextgentrucker and JForce28 Thank this.
