KAG will want 1 year of tractor-trailer experience -- NOT one year of tanker.
KAG is the "Swift" of tankers....& will train you for the tanker world.
KAG has several different tanker fleets.....lots & lots of different accounts there...& so, lots of opportunities to make money.
But....just like everywhere else....the better-paying loads there will require a hazmat.
It's probably (in truth) a better place to learn tanker....than even Schneider.
I know nothing about Bynum -- good, or bad.
Given your location in FL -- & the current CDL freight market -- your available tanker options may be limited to Indian River & Bynum.
Take whichever will in fact hire you -- & stay there...for at least a year.
Longer would be better.
Other carriers will later want some track record/evidence of stability.

Cool, so Bynum it is then, I've seen Indian River and KAG trucks a lot but I've maybe seen a Bynum truck like 2-3 times which is crazy, they are a small company so maybe that's why, I asked the recruiter if I was gonna go out with a trainer and she "no we're not training company", they don’t load and unload the product so I'm guessing that's fair.Last edited: Apr 10, 2025

That's one reason why their pay is modest -- no loading/unloading is required.
There...you're basically a liquid shuttle driver.
If you want to go tanker -- be serious about it -- join up with a fleet that teaches/trains/does loading & unloading.
It's a valuable skill set.

I will say the benefit to KAG would be that you could transfer to a different division at any time. You could go from food grade to fuel and still be with the same company.
FullMetalJacket, nextgentrucker and lual Thank this. -
Correct -- more opportunities than you can shake a stick at.

For some of them -- the pay can be quite good...to excellent.
But -- I remain unsure/unconvinced that KAG hires that far south into FL.
