Swift apparently didn't pay any of their employees this Friday. Causing uproar.

but we have all heard the horrific stories of companies stopping the fuel card(s), and leaving drivers stranded, in fact on this site so many of them.
this is why drivers need a credit card, or debit card, to get home via the airport, or car rental, train or gray dog.
when a company leaves a driver stranded, did they really care about him or her..???
they KNEW dang well they had human beings out there.
so park the truck, clean it out (i always traveled light, no TV, fridge, etc),, lock up the truck, take pictures to document any damages, or NONE, then get outta dodge.
let them worry about any recovery..i had a family worried about me, and my safety, over a thoughtless company.Gearjammin' Penguin and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
not all drivers have trucks with a fridge, nor the space to have one. not all drivers stop and eat all day long, or play video games at each and every truck stop.
many people wait till the last minute to pay the bills, especially if done online, cuz the money is sent home, for the wife to feed those kids...and she pays the bills as well for the family.
too many variables like a child at home having an emergency, like an injury, or sudden sickness, that required extra money for that driver to send home out of his pocket, for you to tell people....... "to get your stuff in line"........Rideandrepair, Gearjammin' Penguin and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
How about the companies expect drivers to sacrifice, time in dock not paid, or repairs or sleep, deal with the rude ungrateful warehouse workers. Not all but a lot are. But in return paid on time for their efforts. And most of the time companies know #### well in advance if payroll will be met on time on the day it’s expected. At the very least a little heads up and explanation of what’s happening is the very least they could do. Now I understand maybe a computer glitch, ok well people’s bill collectors might not understand. But the fact remains payday is payday. No ifs ands or buts.
