    Question:

Pup A scales out as 19,000 and 12,000.
Pub B scales out as 16,500 and 14,000.

Which one would y'all make the lead?

Would it change if you knew Pup B was fully decked out and Pup A was floor loaded?

If I knew that before hooking, I’d put B in front since my drive axle would shift about 1000 lbs off of A and onto B. Even more weight shifted if you drive a twin screw.

But if I’m already hooked up with A in the lead, I’m not swapping them around unless I get down the road and it pulls really badly.

I would make B the lead.

The thing I always go by is if the dolly and rear trailer axle both individually scale heavier than the front trailer axle, then you can safely assume they have to be switched.
