They're actually warning drivers in the load comments about the 10:00 delivery time being inaccurate. I have had a trip plan all worked out since the preplan, but if it is earlier than 0600, then I won't make it. After I got empty last night, I just hit the road without even writing anything down. Meanwhile, dispatch was sending me messages that needed a reply. I guess he thinks I can read messages while moving. When I stopped at the Love's to top off the reefer, I read the messages. One said "you must reply to these messages" another said "are you getting these messages?". I replied that I understood and would deliver without issue once I got the right appointment time to which I got a snippy reply. Needless to say, I simply ended the conversation with him and once I got to this new truckstop 5 miles from the customer, I went to bed and nothing more was sent to me. I guess they have some seriously uneducated drivers that can't read and comprehend the messages that clearly say that the delivery appointment isn't set yet so they have to hound you for a confirmation that you understand.

I sent a note to my AM before heading to Americold letting him know that if the confirmed appointment was before 0600 on Thursday, I wouldn't be able to make it because of my short hours. He said it won't be before the 10:00 they sent originally, and possibly a drop, which works for me.
I thought my appointment for Americold was for 14:00, turns out it was 15:00. I got here at 13:20. The lady asked if I minded live loading, I said not at all if given time to precool since I was expecting a drop and hook. So, by 14:00 I am sitting in front of my dock door with my trailer already sub-zero (fresh refrigerant makes a world of difference), waiting for them to confirm my temp and back me in to live load.Friend, Rugerfan, Knucklehead and 5 others Thank this. -

Got my appointment set finally. I deliver at 13:00 tomorrow in Henderson then head to Dobson, NC to pick up a short load going to Abingdon VA, then up to Mt Crawford,VA for a load to Jacksonville FL for Sunday morning. The Abingdon load will put me just under 3600 for the week plus whatever breakdown pay I get for that trailer's compressor oil leak repair.
Knucklehead, cdavis188, Rugerfan and 4 others Thank this.
