Loblaws has a driverless delivery truck driving around the GTA

I doubt it will be successful. Something will happen

 

Once they get all the bugs worked out (which they will) these trucks will be much safer than most of the new poorly trained steering wheel holders driving on our roads today.I say bring them on and it can't happen soon enough.

 

I'll worry once they're able to winch a 12 wide shack onto a float and haul it 40 km down a ragged-### lease road covered in sloppy, ankle deep mud and then pilot it down the QE2 in a blizzard before backing it in to a 14 wide space and winching it off.

 

Remember when they rolled out the Tesla big rig prototype? It failed and was stranded where people instantly posted pics online. That was funny as hell.

 

I've seen a handful of them on hooks out in Central Cali... always makes me laugh... there's quite a bit running the road out in reno as well as bay area

 

I think they'll be a wrecker's wet dream , too hot , too cold , too stormy , too bad .

 

It cant do any worse than the current talent out there…daily semi wrecks on the 400 series is absolutely ridiculous. Currently there are fewer decent driving jobs. I know couple small fleet owners who are driving cuz they just cant find a suitable experienced driver.

I'd love to be replaced with a driverless truck. I'd get 1.5 years severance pay and be done with this industry.
