Bought a pete 378 and wanted to check the status of the rears. Also want to find the gear ratio so I can also change the seal. I can't find a placard on it anywhere. How do I find the gearing?

Pressure wash that rear end, there might be a tag on it - aluminum.

Check VIN with Pete, find out what it came out with originally , unless it's been changed.

    For a start.

    Then thee's the tire size/RPM etc mathematical stuff . . . :)

To get a seal all you gotta know is 402, 404. DS40 etc
