Judging by the smoke, I think they realized they screwed up. Their vision was blocked by the other truck, and what was going on with the lowboy? Made a left in front of the daycab, and a different color sleeper would make me wonder. I think you might have made it, they were on the shoulder,,,still, nice going.
You ever send dash cam footage in on somebody?

I’m talking more about road rage type incidents directed towards you as the truck driver by some other motorist. That’s what I would classify my incident as a couple days ago. I’m driving along maintaining a safe distance in the slow lane from traffic ahead. She comes around and deliberately and aggressively cuts me off about 5 feet from my front bumper and gets on the brakes making a dive for the exit she almost missed. Then proceeds to wave her finger at me as I’m pacing along giving her the stare down while she’s on the off ramp. Just unbelievable. It was a full moon and I’m sure she was late for her cigarette break or afternoon sit on the pot but c’mon. It finally dawned on me that forward facing cam might not be a bad idea after all. Especially if I can take action against people like this with the footage. That would be hilarious if they’d sent her a citation in mail a week later. Usually it’s some younger or middle aged guy driving a half ton, but lately it’s been the broads in those corny crossover SUV’s causing all the mayhem.

I had a weird one on Sunday night, driving from Dallas to Texarkana on I-30. I drive a company truck governed to 70 mph and I overtook a guy running 67-68 mph, so I moved over to the left lane and started to pass him. And of course, after I’ve gotten around a half a truck length past him, he sped up to, you guessed it, 70 mph. Which is a jerk move. I didn’t want to be in the left lane, I’m not one of those drivers who gets all crazy and blocks up the passing lane trying to pass someone going a hair slower than me. This guy was legitimately going slow enough for me to overtake and started to pass until that point.
So there we were, both going 70, my truck a half length in the lead, both going at exactly the same speed, me getting pretty irritated. And then he laid on his air horn! WTF?
And after maybe five miles of this, he finally had to slow down and get behind me because the right lane was closed for construction. On the other side of the construction zone, I moved back over to the right lane and saw that I had opened up a considerable gap which only grew BECAUSE HE HAD SLOWED BACK DOWN TO HIS EARLIER SPEED! He had only sped up because he didn’t want me to pass him.RockinChair and drvrtech77 Thank this. -

Always have to be in front and end up stopping the free flow of traffic later or just end up sitting in traffic or parking at the same place anyway. You're not saving any time but instead increase the risk of an accident for zero benefit other than some sort of ego fix.Savor the Flavor Thanks this. -
That’s all pretty funny, you gotta work on your reading comprehension skills though. I overtook him and started to pass and got halfway past him before he sped up. If he hadn’t, I would have been past him and back over in less time than it’s taking you to read this, even without you sounding out the big words.
As I have already noted, I wasn’t holding anyone else back, we were the only two vehicles on the road at the time.Last edited: May 14, 2025 at 2:05 PM

The problem with these kind of things is that they happen so fast that if an event doesn't trigger and catch it on my truck it will be long gone before I can hit the record button. I think some camera systems record in a continuous loop and you can save certain times if need be. That's not how it works on the truck I'm in though.
At the end of the day what good does it do having video of it if there's no accident? A tiger don't change it's stripes. Stupid entitled people will continue to be stupid and entitled.bzinger, Sirscrapntruckalot and 201 Thank this.
