They should be ignored, they were part of the problem with asking for the FMCSA handing guidelines for PC and it screwed more up than it solved.

Cvsa need to stick to what Is they ever they do.
Supposed to….provide guidance, education, and advocacy to organizations involved in inspections, training, and enforcement of commercial vehicles. The CVSA also works to establish uniform safety standards and procedures for commercial vehicles.

Doesn’t say anything about trying to get more stupid laws.
How about we limit their ability to travel during their lunch break, unpaid time hopefully, to can’t leave the property they work at.

I've only used it, legitimately, a handful of times.

We get two hours a day, and a lot of guys think that means you have 13 driving and 84 weekly.

Is 70+ hours a week not enough?

My company puts tickets up on the wall and I saw one of them recently where somebody got a ticket for using PC to drive home when they got empty. If the cop has a brain it's not that hard to figure this stuff out. Absolutely not worth it I work enough as it is.

If it's truly PC, there should be no limit. What they're concerned with is the abuse of PC, and brother, is there a lot of that!

Guess where the legal, “operating under Ag exemption” falls under, PC/Ag Exempt notation. sometimes you’ll go a week and work every day and not log it.

Maybe we’ll do that, make farming a 8-4 job too.

Yep! And if their data really does show the fourfold increase in accident risk among drivers who misuse it, it's either got to get fixed or they're going to take it away.

It doesn't help that they added the guidance that says you're allowed to use it to move to parking after getting unloaded if you don't have hours. That's not really a valid use of PC (it goes against the reasoning used to explain proper PC use,) but it's a band-aid used because no one in trucking seems willing to tackle the problem of the docks abusing truckers time.

What's that? You really need this dock for somebody else? You didn't need it 6 hours ago? You ran me out of time so I guess you're going to have to wait until I get my time back.

If more drivers ended up doing this then there would have to be some kind of solution made.

How about we just go back to paper logs and it will all be much easier.
