It really just depends on the customer. Some of them are 24/7. Some of them have a locked gate after they leave of an evening. Some of them are massive industrial properties with manned security gates and won’t allow you in until your appointment. The latter isn’t too common. Morning, daytime, and late afternoon are probably the most common appointment times. There are a handful of places that do things in the wee hours, though.

That’s not bad because the flip flopping sleep schedule in reefer gets old fast and I’m
Just looking for a change of pace.

In this economy anything seems like food would be the safe bet. So I’m hoping food grade tanker stays moving.

That’s a question I can’t answer. I’ve never had a pump truck at IRT, and it’s something we started doing after I came to work here. @Cobrawastaken used to be an active member on the thread several months ago. He had a pump truck and was pretty knowledgeable about the routine on that side of the company. If you start from the beginning of 2024, you might be able to read some of his posts regarding the pump division.

Yeah, that's why I didn't want to do Reefer...

    JForce28 Thanks this.

Indian River didn't do a lot of pump loads when I worked there and I doubt that's changed. Sometimes I'd go a couple months without doing one. I've heard some drivers say they went 6 months without doing one.

Food period is a good choice. Even though the trucking economy has hit all of us really hard it's still not a blood bath. I know hazmat drivers who in the thick of it would only get one load a week. Iv pulled just about every trailer . From here out I don't think I'll do anything but food tank, or reefer. It's very stable

Most dairy plants toss the samples in the trash and the ones that don't trash them have a big fridge you put them in. I've yet to have anyone directly ask me for the sample.

Dispatch may not know you don't have a fridge so let them know so they can dispatch you accordingly.

Cool, thanks, yeah that's my third time hauling cream and my first two didn't have samples so I got surprised by this one, I guess every shipper is different. I'm missing a lot of stuff that's why I'm buying food everyday, wasting money and stuff lol. I'm going home Friday and I'll get my stuff, fridge, more clothes and everything, hopefully they can send me home with a load and I won't have to park the truck at the terminal and get a rental to go home, getting every in the rental car and come to the terminal won't be fun...

Btw, what's the policy for PC over there at IRT? Are the ones with the pink mudflaps team truck?
