but you can at least see if a trailer is where it’s supposed to be before you go looking. I think customers like to use us as free storage at times. Our csr’s will see a trailer as empty, but the customer likely fed them some bad information . It’s a game as old as trucking itself.

Around Lincoln I never got a trailer number, just “we’re showing X number of empties here” or “I’m seeing 2 empties at Sysco”. Usually if I did get a number it was for a trailer at Midwest and 90% of the time it would have a seal on it.Bro_Dave and Knucklehead Thank this.

Matt has been really on top of assigning me a number to pick up. We’ve had a couple of hiccups, usually a customer not unloading a trailer, or loading one that wasn’t supposed to be loaded. Once he assigned me one just to watch it leave on another truck. lol.Friend, DonRobbie, Knucklehead and 1 other person Thank this.

I'm going to ask a question on behalf of a good friend I used to team drive with years ago, but I'm going to start by saying I know each individual situation is different and there are no hard and fast rules at FCC regarding starting pay. I'm looking for best guestimates here.
My friend has been driving for the same company for going on 12 years, his specific position has been eliminated due to cost cutting. He has a very good driving record, no tickets, accidents or incidents in the last 3+ years. He's got more than 1M miles behind him and he's one of the most solid dudes I've ever met. I've mentioned FCC to him on several occasions because he made it known he thought this situation was coming down the line.
Having said all that, what do you FCC folks think his chances of getting hired on to the MWR fleet would be, roughly what do you think he would start at on pay and would it be a problem getting home on the weekends for a full 48hrs? Oh yeah, he lives in north central Ohio, less than 15 minutes from the turnpike and has the space to park the truck at home.Friend Thanks this. -
Starting pay is hard to say without him talking to recruiting, it varies. I will say with his longevity at one company, clean driving record he will be at the top of the pay scale.
He is definitely in a good spot for Midwest regional, as far as a full 48 at home, I can’t answer that, maybe another MW driver can.Friend, MidWest_MacDaddy and Woobie Thank this. -
It seems like another issue with the tracking is it is a little slow to refresh, sometimes if they’ve moved the trailer recently it’ll send you to where it was a couple hours ago.
Friend Thanks this. -
hometime should be no problem. They'll work with you to get the hometime you want/need. I'm staying out for 2.5 weeks one more time after the 4th, then I'll be switching to every other weekend off for 2-3 days
I recently spoke to a company driver that has been driving for FCC on and off for years. He regularly takes winters off and comes back to drive the rest of the year, and they have no problems with that. He's financially secure though so he's able to do that
If that doesn't tell how flexible FCC is, I don't know what willFriend, runningman0661 and Woobie Thank this.
