Probally rotating stock. I take loads to Kalamazoo where I deliver a product and get reloaded in the same dock with the exact same product. Plant to plant rotation of industrial raw materials.

Cheese from Saputo in Tulare, CA to Saputo in WI.
Friend Thanks this. -
Got a preplan. Another 300ish mile per day load. Live load in Harrisonville tomorrow afternoon, live unload in Aurora, CO on Saturday.
For my 2 biggest months here, my daily averages were 375 miles per day in April and 384 miles per day in June. That's daycab averages. I messaged dispatch, insisting my miles increase, but I doubt they change anything, I have little hope that I will ever see miles like I used to before the last time I left.Friend, hope not dumb twucker, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
You did say 2500-2800 in 7days and that comes out to 357mi a day…hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

They are different cuts. I asked them about that. Each plant makes some cuts the other plant doesn’t make.Friend, Lonesome, ncmickey and 1 other person Thank this.

And that is a sad average when a driver stays out 8-10 weeks at a time. This time of year, 2800 should be a bad week. Right now, I see 3 out of 4 weeks in the 23-2400 range, and they won't let me move to a full time dispatcher that can push for better.Friend, hope not dumb twucker, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this.

At Moore, we used to take trailer loads of one size glass from Church Hill, TN to the plant in Spring Hill, KS. Then pick up a preloaded trailer of a different size glass in Spring Hill and take it right back to Church Hill. What we were told is that one plant had some orders for one size glass, but didn't have any that size made, and re-tooling for a small run was more expensive than just shipping it from another plant, and vice-versa.Friend, hope not dumb twucker, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this.

You can’t compare glass hauling with reefer..mich different operations..Bro_Dave Thanks this.

I know, the post was in regards to the previous bunch of posts about inventory rotation, not my rants about miles.Friend, hope not dumb twucker, Lonesome and 3 others Thank this.
